Effect of Clay, Soil Organic Matter, and Soil pH on Initial and Residual Weed Control with Flumioxazin

چکیده
Greenhouse studies were conducted to evaluate the effects of soil organic matter content and pH on initial residual weed control with flumioxazin by planting selected species in various lab-made field soils. Initial was determined seeds into soils treated (71 g ha−1). Seeds Echinochloa crus-galli (barnyard grass), Setaria faberi (giant foxtail), Amaranthus retroflexus (redroot pigweed), Abutilon theophrasti (velvetleaf) incorporated top 1.3 cm each at a density 100 per pot, respectively. Emerged plants counted removed both non-treated pots two weeks after following week for six weeks. Flumioxazin evaluated calculating percent emergence weeds compared Clay not found affect any tested species. Control A. theophrasti, E. crus-galli, S. reduced as increased. The affected matter. Soil below 6 but did crus-galli. 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 treatment. Eight treatment, gave 0% all tested. Chenopodium album (common lambsquarters) 100% duration experiment, except when greater than 3% or 7. only observed common C. (soil > 80%) above decreased Similar results comparing soils; however, differences between Results indicate that can provide ranging from 75–100%

Sorption of organic chemicals to soil organic matter: influence of soil variability and pH dependence.
For modeling the sorption of organic compounds in soils it is typically assumed that the organic carbon/water partitioning coefficient (Koc) of neutral organic chemicals can be treated as a constant property that remains unaffected by the type of soil organic matter as well as pH in the soil solution. Here the validity of these assumptions is evaluated with a large and diverse experimental data...
متن کاملThe Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...

The Ultimate Soil Survey in One Pass: Soil Texture, Organic Matter, Ph, Elevation, Slope, and Curvature
The goal of accurately mapping soil variability preceded GPS-aided agriculture, and has been a challenging aspect of precision agriculture since its inception. Many studies have found the range of spatial dependence is shorter than the distances used in most grid sampling. Other studies have examined variability within government soil surveys and concluded that they have limited utility in many...
